Our Purpose

Northern Flight Alliance exists to encourage, foster, and promote aerospace education, careers, and aerospace activity by supporting schools, the Civil Air Patrol, individuals, and organizations with a related purpose.

Managed by a dedicated local committee of aviation enthusiasts, in partnership with the Shawano Municipal Airport community.

Aviation in the Classroom: Bringing the wonder of flight directly to local students! Our members love heading into area classrooms to teach the fundamentals of aerodynamics and inspire the next generation of aerospace professionals.

Aviation Scholarships

We actively fund and present flight training scholarships to local high school seniors and youth. Our programs directly support aspiring pilots as they work toward completing their Private Pilot License and pursue professional degrees in collegiate aviation.

Help us bring aviation to the local community! We look for volunteers to assist with hands-on youth outreach, coordinate with regional flight groups, and represent our alliance by supporting lively airport community gatherings like the Shawano Airport's "Tacos on the Tarmac" events.

$1,000 Flight Training Scholarships

We proudly present $1,000 flight training scholarships to local high school seniors and area youth pursuing careers in aerospace or working toward their Private Pilot License. Whether your interest was ignited watching a regional air race right here at the ramp or you've dreamed of the skies since childhood, we want to support your journey.

To Apply: Fill out this initial form and attach a letter detailing why flying is important to you, your aviation goals, and how this funding will help your journey. Our scholarship committee will review your submission and reach out with the next steps.
